EvE: Empowerment vs. Exploitation

Research output: Non-textual formExhibition

Abstract

From a national call, three of my works were invited for the EvE: Empowerment vs. Exploitation exhibition, organized and presented by Tea Roots. First formed in 1995, Tea Roots seeks "to empower social change through the arts... advanc[ing] the artistic works of under-represented writers, visual artists, and activists from diverse disciplines, cultures, communities, and fields of study." Due to financial constraints, I supplied only two of the three: "Vul- [HGT]" and "Ella" (of the Skin of Years series).<br>The exhibition premiered on March 1, and in late March, was invited to show at Temescal Studios in Oakland, CA. It was restaged there and kept on view through April 14, 2019. (March 1, 2019 - April 16, 2019).
