Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present an elasto-dynamic model of the so called TTU Martian tumbleweed concept, presented here last year. This work is put forward in an effort to keep the Martian tumbleweed concepts in the forefront of possible Martian sensor platforms. We present the hybrid parameter multiple body modeling algorithms that will ultimately be used to model our device as it deploys, falls, skips, slides and rolls along the surface, however we only present simulation results for a rudimentary model of the elasto-dynamics at this time.
