Abstract

The high temperature behavior of fullerenes was studied in this paper. It is found that the molecular structures of fullerenes will be destroyed at temperatures higher than 870K, and transform into an amorphous state of carbon. The effect of the space structure of fullerenes on its thermal characteristics was discussed. It is believed that the polarization of fullerenes moleculars due to molecular collisions is the main cause of its structure conversion.
