Abstract

Design Studio Live: Fashion and Art was a group exhibition. Artist and fashion design studio/vignettes were created for exhibition at FFAT. Artists and fashion designers created work live for the viewing public with activities such as draping, patternmaking, sewing, pastel drawing, and paper sculpture. Simultaneously a live fashion photo shoot with Don Carpenter was taking place outside of the gallery. The models were wearing collaborative ensembles from the participating artists and styled by undergraduate student, Alicia McDonald. The public also viewed models being prepared for the show with hair and makeup. This was a one day exhibit that was shown to the public on the First Friday Art Trail at Charles Adams Studio Project, 5 & J Gallery, with a crowd of 2500-3000 people per month.
