Abstract

Many Federal and state government programs in the U.S. are in place to help rural economies grow, to keep farmers’ incomes stable, and to decrease out migration of rural population. These programs are mutually beneficial and already producing impacts by improving farmers’ livelihoods and providing a set of alternatives to farming.
