Abstract

The construction, pattern recognition and performance of the LiF-TEA RICH detector used in the CLEO III experiment was discussed. The detector is an upgraded version of CLEO II and contains a new four layer silicon strip vertex detector and a new wire drift chamber. It also has a particle identification system based on the detection of Cerenkov ring images.
