Abstract

On this concert entitled "Soundings", we collaborated with Professor David Dees as soloist on Ingolf Dahl's "Concerto for Saxophone and Wind Orchestra". This is a tour de force for both soloist and ensemble. We also performed Dahl's "Sinfonietta" which is uniquely challenging and a staple in our wind repertoire. Two DMA students also conducted on this concert. Daniel Lee conducted the challenging "Octandre" by Edgar Varese. Kerri MacPhee closed theDee program with a well constructed and semi-improvisatory piece with staging, lights, and theatrics.
