Abstract

We derive an expression for the luminescence intensity due to indirect transitions between particular impurity-related energy levels, and relate it to the k-space charge densities, | Ψ (k) | 2, of the impurity levels. The expression can then be used to estimate | Ψ (k) | 2 from a measured luminescence spectrum. We present results obtained for an exciton bound to nitrogen in GaP.
