Abstract

Single production with no other strange particles in the final state is observed in charged-current neutrino interactions in the deuterium filled 15-ft bubble chamber at Fermilab. This phenomenon is interpreted as a signal for inclusive production of charmed baryons followed by c+ +X decays. The product of total c+ cross section by branching ratio for this process is found to be (2.0 0.740.65)% of the total charged-current neutrino cross section.
