Abstract
Pool boiling heat transfer of a horizontal heated wall subjected to a parallel interference wall at a certain distance above has been studied. Local surface temperature data of a heater boiling water at atmospheric pressure, using an interference wall of a diameter from 10 mm to 35 mm and a gap width from 0.051 mm to 2.54 mm are presented. The behavior of large variations in local temperature, the heat transfer mechanism in a very small gap, the critical heat flux, and the effect of vapor venting have been investigated.
