Abstract

The high RFWG observed in the Fe3C-〈RTAN- Cβ phase region was attributed to the formation of iron carbide from the 〈FeNi〉 alloy and the associated surface area increase. Also, the low RFWG observed when the favored solid metal phases were 〈FeNi〉-Cβ and Ni3C-〈FeRTAN-Cβ are due to the absence of carbide formation and lack of significant surface area increases.
