Burgmüller: Characteristic Studies op. 109

I was invited to be the artist/editor of this volume by the publishing house. Hal Leonard is the largest music publisher in the world, and is re-issuing the famous Schirmer catalog of essential pedagogical classical piano works in a new series. My contribution was to write a general Overview of the works in their historical/artistic context, and write specific pedagogical/artistic notes for each piece. In addition, I re-edited the score in terms of fingering, pedaling, dynamics, etc. Finally I recorded the music in a professional studio for a CD that is marketed with the volume.
