Abstract

This paper shows computer models for common switch-mode converters with averaged and conventional cycle by cycle switching operation. Models for the Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, and Cuk converter are presented. Also shown are Buck and Boost converters with integrated magnetic components. All time averaged models are using an identical averaged model for the PWM switch. The models are implemented using PSpice for Windows. The advantage of averaged models are much faster execution time as well as the ability to perform frequency domain (bode plots) analysis in addition to time domain analysis.
