Abstract

To be selected as the highest All State Conductor in any state is a high professional honor as you are invited by reputation as the one person to conduct the highest level of talented musicians in the state who have been selected by rigorous audition. I selected a program, rehearsed for 2-3 days for approximately 6-8 hours per day and created a performance that was presented in a public concert that was professionally recorded and videotaped. Additionally, I was part of a panel discussion with the other All State conductors for college-aged music students. The focused and broad visibility for the TTU School of Music, band program, and wind, brass and percussion applied faculty is enormous. The performance is heard by at least 500 attendees with 100 on stage, as well as broadcasts and recordings which represents exponential opportunities for outreach and visibility.
