Abstract

The artworks in the exhibition will show a long-standing focus on the problem of the socio-cultural memory of ‘home’ by extending it into the realm of architecture and perception. Though the conception of the project begins in Lubbock, Texas – in the industrialized, uniform block housing appearing in various locations in the city – the resulting constructions will be ‘tested’ at a number of global sites, including this solo exhibition in Seoul, Korea, and at venues in the U.S. Exhibition of the works at these diverse venues will, in turn, feed back into my understanding of the conflicted nature of a globalized conception of “home” centered in Lubbock.
