Abstract
The preceding chapters have all addressed pragmatics, problems, and possibilities in writing research and practice. Although these chapters are all very different, they nonetheless enter into the ongoing conversation about research and writing studies. Given the title of the book-Writing Studies Research in Practice: Methods and Methodologies-I would like to go beyond a "recap" of what has gone before and suggest how the chapters in this book, folded in with my own experience and research, enter into what I hope is a continuing, vital conversation about what directions writing research studies might be taking in the near future.
