Abstract

The radiation efficiency of a rectangular flat plate with mixed boundary conditions has been determined from the total average acoustic power radiated into the far field. The boundary conditions considered are (a) two opposing ends fixed while the other two ends are simply supported; and (b) all ends fixed. Numerical results on the radiation efficiency of the plate have been obtained for various mode orders and wavenumber ratios.
