N2 - Little research has been conducted on emotional intelligence (EI) in the hospitality industry. Therefore, this study was designed to investigate the relationship between specific socio-demographic variables and the EI levels of hospitality industry professionals. Although few significant differences were found between the groups, the professionals in this study possess above average levels of EI, which may be indicative of their achievement and longevity in a service-based industry.
