N2 - A summary of the current work associated with the prediction of fatigue life of offshore structures is presented. Various approaches based on elastic line, distortion energy theory, linear elastic theory and the random decrement technique are summarized. Fatigue design considerations for deep water fixed platforms and semisubmersible platforms are reviewed. Current usage of the fracture mechanics approach to fatigue life prediction was assessed.
