A preliminary analysis of cost of quality in electric utilities

Abstract

Cost of quality is very pertinent in today's world as cost of quality represents the cost of not achieving good quality. Reducing cost of quality can improve business performance. Cost of quality has been studied in various industries including water utilities. Cost of quality in electric utilities is a relatively untouched research area. The objective of this study is to perform a preliminary examination of the cost of quality that electric utility companies incur to provide quality service to their customers. This study will present a brief literature review on the cost of quality, specifically in the electric utility industry. A list of potential quality costs in the electric utility industry will be identified. Copyright
