Abstract
The problem of a semi-infinite mode III crack terminating at a wedge-shaped inclusion consisting of bonded dissimilar materials is considered. The radial and angular dependence of the stress field upon material inhomogeneity is described in detail. Results for various geometries and elastic constants are illustrated numerically. The implications of these results with regard to the prediction of crack propagation are discussed.
