Abstract
This project is a commercially released jazz album, which currently represents approximately five hundred hours of work. I began composing and arranging the music for the album in September, 2013. I handled all of the logistics for the recording session such as booking the studio, contacting and hiring the musicians, and arranging the travel accommodations. We completed the recording on August 6th, 2014 at Kaleidoscope Sound in Union City, New Jersey.
The album features world-renowned trumpeter Scott Wendholt who is a Criss Cross jazz artist and holds the solo trumpet chair in the prestigious Village Vanguard Orchestra in New York City. The bassist, Jay Anderson, is a recipient of five Grammy Awards and has been featured on over three hundred commercially released jazz recordings. The album also features a Texas Tech faculty member, tenor saxophonist Stephen Jones.
