Abstract
In the fall of 2018, the author formed a partnership with the department of clinical psychology to create a workshop based around the concepts of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and plagiarism detection tools. The focus was to combat future issues within scholarly writing and publishing. This chapter discusses the creation and implementation process of an academic integrity workshop for graduate psychology students. However, this workshop can be replicated to fit the needs of any academic discipline. The introduction of the chapter defines the topics of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and the usage of electronic plagiarism detection tools. The second part of the chapter will discuss the overall creation and implementation processes concerning the workshop. The chapter aims to provide the audience with a deeper understanding of the topics and the action steps needed to combat issues of academic dishonesty within the publication process for graduate students.
