Abstract

Perfomed as double bass soloist the Bottesini Elegy & Tarantella with the Pacific Region International Music Academy Orchestra in Powell River, British Columbia. This is the first performance of Bottesini’s original orchestration Dr. Morton re-created from Bottesini’s own manuscript and parts that Morton photographed and catalogued at the Biblioteca Palatina in Parma, Italy. This is most likely the first time this orchestration has been heard since Bottesini's death 127 years ago.
