Abstract

A key feature of the 30th Annual Decatur Arts Festival, the 2018 Fine Arts Exhibition presented the work of 51 artists, selected from 215 submissions. Its three jurors are prominent members of the Atlanta arts community: Angus Galloway (artist and Asst. Prof. of Art at Georgia State University's Perimeter College - Dunwoody Campus), Ann Rowles (National Affiliate artist of SOHO20 Gallery, New York, NY), and Fred Yalouris (ret. Design Director for Atlanta Beltline, Inc., with an extensive career in public art). The exhibition took place in the Dalton Gallery of Agnes Scott College. My piece, "Ella", produced for the Skin of Years project, was awarded Third Place, accompanied by a cast-glass medal and a $500 monetary prize.
